Foundational Pottery Classes
Foundational classes build strong core skills across wheel throwing, handbuilding functional works (pinching and slabwork), and glazing techniques (brush-on and dipping). The classes are fully modular — no fixed sequence and no compulsory modules. Reflecting how learners learn today through the internet and social media, we provide video and online resources to fill the gaps, while face-to-face lessons in the studio verify the information, processes and techniques — a practical approach to learning pottery aligned to your own interests.

- Using AMACO brush-on glazes with confident, controlled application.
- Layering techniques for achieving professional results in your pottery.
2 · Dip glazing
- Understanding transparency, opacity and viscosity for consistent studio results.
- Choosing the suitable glaze for specific clay bodies and visual outcomes.

Painting Illustrations with Underglazes

Taught by Luann every first Sunday of the month, 10am – 1pm. Course fees S$100 — firing is excluded.

Hand-building Workshops
Our hand-building workshops are more than basic. Fully modular and designed to be explored at your own pace, each one pairs a hand technique with the inspiration of form and special finish — so you learn not just the making, but gain an insight into the aesthetic style made possible with a foundation technique. From the humble lump of clay that can become an exquisite piece, to works with an organic, natural look, handbuilding is as expressive as it is accessible. Slabwork technique can be free-formed or template based, opening the door to impressive, one-of-a-kind works as well as beautifully standardised pieces. Take your time to explore one of these workshops — take one of it, complete the Essentials of Glazing, and you'll qualify to be a studio member.

Making a Boxy Vessel – using Templates
3 hours · S$108
2 paying pax, 1 free
Slabwork is one of the fundamental handbuilding techniques — and working from a template is how makers move from free-formed slabs to crisp, repeatable forms. In this three-hour session, you'll learn to make and use a paper template: measuring out your design, cutting the panels, and tracing them onto a smooth slab before assembling them into a boxy vessel of around 14–18cm. Along the way you'll use the professional slab roller — setting the right thickness and rolling a crease-free slab — join the walls cleanly at the seams, and get practical tips on drying and calculating for shrinkage so the finished piece keeps its fit and strength after firing. To finish, add character to the surface with carving, or by impressing leaves or prints into the clay.
Min. 2 pax to start a class.
- School holidays only · 2nd Thursday of the break · 1.30pm – 4.30pm
- Nov 2026: 26 Nov Thu

Building a Mug with Soft Slabs
S$108 per person
Soft slabs give your work a gentler, more organic look — and open up wider possibilities, such as forming cylinders and bulbous shapes. In this session, you'll learn how to prepare and handle soft slabs and create crisp, well-formed pieces using the techniques of barrier and support. You'll then bring it all together in an impressed mug with a pulled handle, up to 15cm tall, fired and finished for you.
Min. 2 pax to start a class.
- School holidays · 1st week of the break · Thurs 1.30pm – 5.30pm
- Nov 2026: 26 Nov Thu
Pottery Holiday Camps for Kids, Teens & Families
Our holiday camps are family classes, designed for the school break and built around making together — parents, teens and older children working side by side in the studio rather than watching from the sidelines. Because the point is bonding as much as output, the pace leaves room for conversation and shared decisions, yet the content goes deeper than a taster. Each camp covers the essentials of the craft and drills into strong fundamentals: how a form is planned, how clay is prepared and joined, how surfaces are built and finished, and why a piece behaves the way it does in the kiln. That grounding is deliberate — the aim is confidence, so that what you learn in the studio gives you the footing to keep learning on your own afterwards. Come with your research and reference, leave with a finished glazed sculpture, and with the technique behind it. The minimum age for the Holiday Animal Sculpture Camp is 13, since realistic animal creation asks for finer control of form, proportion and detail.

2 sessions · 7.5 hours · S$380
2 paying pax, 1 free
Holiday Animal Sculpture Camp (13 years and above)
Choose one animal and make it yours — arrive with your research: photographs from every angle, and postures that capture its spirit. Lesson 1 (5 hours) begins with anatomy, skeletal structure and a study of the features that define your subject, before you shape a palm-size figure in clay, refined through corrections, adjustments and a shared critique. Lesson 2 (2.5 hours) brings the surface to life, rendering fur textures in underglazes alongside the essentials of glazing and firing. With expert guidance and the studio's clear-glaze finishing service, you leave with a sculpture fired to a brilliant, glossy shine.
Min. 2 pax to start a class.
- Lesson 1 (5 hours): Mon · 9.30am – 12.30pm & 2pm – 4.30pm
- Lesson 2 · Glazing (2.5 hours): Tue · 9.30am – 11.30am
