A unique place to pause and reflect, recollect, refresh, and re-engage.

Goodman Ceramic Studio first opened its doors in 2010, catering to artists-in-residence at the Goodman Arts Centre. Helmed by Hazel Wong, we began offering art enrichment programmes to schools, businesses, government institutions, and communities. These programmes involved the creation of communal murals using innovative ceramic processes, pioneering the use of shared art experiences to orchestrate teamwork and help individuals connect with and within their organisations.
Studio GDMC was born during the trying time of the pandemic. There was an influx of newcomers at our studio and after conversing with them, we realised that many were enthusiastically taking up pottery almost as a form of therapy.  For many, it was a safe space to search for inner calm and peace amid the uncertainty of the global pandemic.

01 REFLECTION

The values of self-awareness, introspection, and mindfulness can be derived from “PAUSE” and “REFLECT”. Taking the time to reflect on our thoughts, actions, and beliefs can help us gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the world.

02 ADAPTABILITY

“RE-ALIGN” suggests a willingness to adapt and adjust to changing circumstances. This value includes flexibility, creativity, and resilience, enabling us to navigate challenges and obstacles easily.

03 CONNECTION

“RE-CONNECT” and “RE-AFFIRM” emphasise the importance of connection and community. These values prioritise building and maintaining positive relationships with others, creating a sense of belonging and support.

04 GROWTH

“RE-CHARGE” and “GO-AGAIN” encourage continuous growth and development.

To aid in this endeavour, we are proud of our creative effort in creating a one-of-its-kind Studio, with state-of-the-art equipment and elevated creature comforts.

For the weary souls, our new two-storey Gallery often sparks ideas and inspires.

Come and experience this space and we welcome you onto this quest to find meaning and purpose through Art.
